The article offers a critical analysis of Timothy Morton\u2019s \u201cpost-environmentalist\u201d theories through the lens of Maurice Merleau-Ponty\u2019s Phenomenology to explore their potential contribution to a philosophy of disability law. The first part investigates the concept of \u2018vulnerability\u2019 and how its traditional doctrinal understanding can be deepened through Morton\u2019s speculative thought. The next part compares some aspects of the two authors\u2019 thinking in order to introduce a reflection on the legal relevance of the \u201cembodied\u201d experiences of women with disabilities and, then, with autism. The reflection on vulnerability is therefore connected to that on \u2018care\u2019 in order to adopt an intersectional perspective, on the double front of Feminist Disability Studies<\/em> and Autism Studies<\/em>. Subsequently, the theme of \u2018time\u2019 in autism is explored as an example of a peculiar way of approaching the legal, but also social and affective \u201cpositioning\u201d. Then, the \u2018phenomenological\u2019 approach outlined through the contributions of Merleau-Ponty and Morton is integrated with the \u2018hermeneutic\u2019 one of Paul Ricoeur for the purpose of a broader reflection on the narrative identity that the act of writing about the self inevitably implies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
